This exuberant setting of the tune "LASST UNS ERFREUEN" is set in a meter of four instead of the usual three, and features recurring eighth note patterns which add a sense of urgency and motion. The handchimes appear in the calmer middle section, providing relief and tranquility. The final section returns to the opening accompaniment figure and progresses to a bold, fortissimo finale.
