Thomas Chisholm wrote the lyrics of "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" as a testament to God's faithfulness. Based on Lamentations 3:22-24, this stalwart favorite begins with large, broad chords that create a sense of God's faithfulness and strength. The opening chords are followed by a lighter handchime and suspended chime motif to lend imagery to other parts of the text that refer to morning, seasons and peace. This is a wonderful selection for developing groups to work on balance between melody and accompaniment.
