Who Knew It Would Be This Easy!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>So, you\u2019d like to use handchimes in the general music classroom or children\u2019s choir rehearsal but you\u2019re not quite sure where to start?\u00a0 We have the solution for you!<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-205\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chimeworks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/LP00082-Skip-To-My-Lou-JPEG-300x232.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"232\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Start slowly &#8211; choose a folk song which you can teach by rote and has a melody that can be harmonized with two chords.\u00a0 Once the text and melody are learnt, add handchimes in by having your students accompany their singing with chords.<\/p>\n<p>Do this by distributing one handchime to each student and separate the students by chords having the students holding the common pitch stand in the center.\u00a0 Practice each chord separately.\u00a0 Then point to group one or two and practice ringing as indicated.<\/p>\n<p>A chord chart indicating the chord by pitch name or color displayed by projector may also be used.\u00a0 Simply point to the chord at the appropriate time.\u00a0 This is a great way to begin teaching eye-hand coordination.\u00a0 Consider putting Malmark\u2019s colored bands on the handchimes to make chord recognition easier.<\/p>\n<p>Begin to practice singing the song along with the chords indicating which chord is to be rung with the text.\u00a0 If you don\u2019t have enough handchimes to go around add some non-pitched percussion for added rhythm.\u00a0 In no time, you\u2019ll have music in a snap \u2013 of the wrist that is!<\/p>\n<p>Here are some recommended folk songs from the ChimeWorks website that use two chords:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chimeworks.com\/products\/eency-weency-spider\/\">Eency, Weency Spider<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chimeworks.com\/products\/hava-nagila\/\">Hava Nagila<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chimeworks.com\/products\/hey-ho-nobody-home\/\">Hey, Ho!
